SC Escrow did a great job! – If you want high quality, professional service, I highly recommend SC Escrow. They've handled several escrows for me over the past few years. Each time, they were professional, closed things on time and were very helpful when I had questions. I highly recommend them. Nancy and Amber were always available and responsive to my questions. Escrow NIGHTMARE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. – I wish there was a negative five star rating. I would gladly give it. I went into escrow with these people, and because of the seller's refusal to allow me to inspect the sewage system, I was forced to cancel (the seller had also told me the property was hooked up to the city sewer lines, which it wasn't). Beware. These guys are crooks! – Just reviewed my final settlement statement 2 weeks after I've closed. And because of their incompetence, we closed a week late. on the final statement, there are charges totally up to $650 that I never knew existed (was never on HUD-1, or Good Faith Estimate), was never told those fees even existed. They are listed as "after hours, processing, extra work". What? Why am I paying for their incompetence? Just because they can't finish their work on time, I need to pay for their overtime? Worst Escrow Experience! – After opening escrow with the owner of the company, I was left with a escrow officer who didn't return my phone calls, lost my paper work, charged more fees than quoted, and didn't close my escrow on time. I complained about this to the officer/owner but was given a "sorry" and nothing more. I know that not all escrows are easy; maybe this was one of them but, my sister used the same company for the sale of her home a few months later and had an awful experience as well.
