Beer good - Food Overpriced and Amateur Great place to go and have a beer after work. As far as the food is concerned, I believe it is over priced and amateur. I really wish they would work on the menu and quality of the food and I would go back more often. I think the owner is stuck on it being an "authentic" Irish Pub....but lets face it, its Hamilton, start making some better food.
Mr. Great atmosphere, clean w/reasonable food/drink cost, ordered fish-n-chips...excellent w/light crispy batter, good size serving made it worth the cost.
Ryan's Tavern should be ashamed of themselves Well where to start...... I can tell you from first hand experience, that this place is terrible, from top to bottom. To start with they hired a joke of a chef, ha ha or at least that's what they claimed he was, in the industry we call em ding chefs, cause they microwave everything. But to be honest I think them serving microwaved food would be an upgrade compared to that horrible food they serve. Wonderful service Ryan's Tavern in downtown Hamilton is a beautiful place. It's nice to see a place that nice in downtown Hamilton. The food however was just mediocre. However, our waitress Jessica was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. She also happened to be the bartender as well. We never had to ask for anything without her asking if we needed something first. must read, dont waste your money or time Where do I start ? This place from top to bottom just stinks !! The food is way, way over priced, well so is the alcohol. I have been in the bar and resturaunt business for a long time, the food on that menu is not made from scratch, or is it fresh. If you must spend your hard earned dollar to eat out in Hamilton, I would recomend the Waterfront, right up the street from this hole. The food is better, and the price is better, ohh the service is way better to boot.
GREAT PLACE/GREAT FOOD IN HAMILTON!! I have been to this place several times. The food is always great and the service is friendly and prompt. The chef has great specials weekly/daily and well worth giving them a try as they are typically outstanding! On the occasions that I have sat at the bar, there is a classy regular crowd that makes it fun and relaxed and the bar tenders are always friendly and fun! Try them on a night when they have live music!
Ryans Tavern is a great place for dinner or just a drink This tavern opened late 2008. The inside is amazing - hardwood everywhere, a nice fireplace at the back on the first floor - it has great atmosphere! There is also a good selection of beer. I do think the food is slightly expensive for the quality, but then again I guess you're paying for eating in such a fantastic place, in Hamilton!
