Dr Ridges and his team are amazing and friendly and I always have a great experience every time I visit.
Appointments at the Retina Vitreous Center in Norman, Oklahoma, can be quite time-consuming. The medical staff, particularly the nurses, appear to be inexperienced, especially when it comes to vascular access. On one occasion, after an extensive wait, our appointment had to be postponed due to their inability to locate a suitable vein for dye injection. We live 30 minutes away and the pointless appointment took almost two hours. The issue persisted during a subsequent visit, leading to the cancellation of the required test. ... read more
I saw Dr Ridges 3 times and each time it was it's own special nightmare. There was the time he bruised my face holding my eye open. There was the time he shot stuff into my eye without explaining in a manner I could HEAR what he was doing. I left with no instructions or explanations. And then there was the time they dilated my eyes and left me in a room with 15 other people waiting and left me for 2 hours. At that point I walked out.
My mother has been going to him for while now. He may be good at what he does, but has a horrible bed side manner. My mother is hard of hearing and he doesn't take the time to actually speak with her in a reasonable manner. He gets so many patients, that he rushes them. He needs to take the time to truly be there for the people who look to him for quidence.I don't recommend Dr. Ridges.
