We are in town for the week. Everywhere was having a Mother's Day brunch which we didn't feel like having. Stopped at Rustic Root and had a wonderful meal! Food was great! Server was awesome! All around the staff was perfect! I would highly recommend this place. We sat on the roof top, where the menu is limited. My understanding is there is a more extensive menu on the first floor. I gave four stars because I never give five stars unless everything blew me away! I always feel there is room for improvement.

The food is great ! But the staff we unpleasant and even gave our table away upstairs after we had been waiting and the server just says sorry and tells us to go downstairs where if you order drinks and food you will not see your service person again unlesss she's bringing u your food one plate at a time and you see her just conversing with other wait staff but showing no interest in you or your table ... she knew we were celebrating 2 bdays but had no care ... oh and when it's time to pay yiu might wait 30 min just for them... read more
Great drinks and ambiance, roof top bar is perfect for Gaslamp. Food is excellent.
