I met Cavallo around 2008 and he has change the way i literally Move around. I never feel like I have to prove that I feel like something’s wrong. He has a way of finding my hard to find issues. He has done my ankle,knee and shoulder. He hears me. I just had surgery recently and went from not able to walk a half a block to walking a mile and half. I am very frustrated with the care I received from Dr. Cavallo. In April 2025, I injured my right knee in a ski accident. At my appointment, he told me it was likely wear and tear or overuse and recommended physical therapy. After several weeks without improvement, I returned and was finally scheduled for an MRI. Before that MRI took place, I injured my left knee in a separate sporting accident. I explained that I heard a pop, couldn’t straighten my leg fully, and had pain with pivoting and going downstairs. I highly recommend Orthopedic surgeon Dr Russell Cavallo as well as his entire staff team. He recently treated me for a 1 cm meniscus tear in my knee. EVERYTHING went well including the pre-operative appointments for diagnosis, the actual arthroscopic ("keyhole") surgery, and the post-operative appointments. It was great working with Dr C. I brought my elderly mother to Dr. Cavallo several times. She has been experiencing severe knee pain for quite some time. Dr. Cavallo was very patient and kind. He tried several treatments. I am pleased to say that she has finally felt some relief. The staff was also very kind to her. It was easy to schedule an appointment and there was little wait time. I would re commend Dr. Cavallo and his team, especially for elderly patients.

After treating my knee issue in the past, I went to him when I had suffered a bad pec injury. He quickly evaluated and recognized the seriousness of the injury, and the urgency to get it repaired. He ensured I got an urgent MRI scheduled ( called the imaging center himself), and an appointment to another surgeon within Stamford Health. He called me to check in after the MRI was done, and my pec was ultimately repaired because of his incredible sense of care and knowledge. Just a phenomenal doctor!
