Awesome experience at Russell getting a custom seat built. Im fortunate enough to live nearby, so got the "Ride in" experience and was abole to be a oart of the design. Jay was on his game explaining the process, options, and getting me a spot booked. Great Seat, But Disappointing Oversight on Water Resistance The seat itself is excellent—comfortable and well-made. However, I was disappointed that Russell Cycle Products (Day-Long Seat) does not inform customers that stitched seats need to be covered to prevent water saturation. This is something I only found out after the fact. To make matters worse, I had to purchase an overpriced rain cover, which unfortunately does not fit well. My tailbone always hurt on longer rides, forcing me to either cut the ride short, take longer breaks, ride standing up, or just endure the discomfort. From the moment I installed my new seat from Russell the pain is gone. It does take a bit to break in especially under my upper thigh but it quickly settled into a very comfortable ride with NO PAIN or soreness. Took my first ride on my new Russell Day Long motorcycle seat, and boy, what a difference. I know they say it takes 500 to 1000 miles to break it in but I realized great comfort on the first 50 miles. It’s a great product and I received great service. I only wish I purchased a Russel seat rather than the Corbin I bought many years ago.
