Running Rooster is a locally owned family run restaurant specializing in gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and big tasty salads. We're most proud of our burgers which get consistent rave reviews. Our burgers are cooked to order on a flame barbecue right in our parking lot for everyone to see (and smell!) If you don't want beef, we have grilled chicken breast, salmon, and grilled giant portabella mushroom caps marinated in garlic and olive oil. Really good food all around - we enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, meals, and desserts. I recommend their brownie and ice cream!
We have had good experiences in the past here however our recent visit will be our last. I understand having a child with an allergy is a risk when eating out, and at times cannot be accommodated however Running Rooster took negligence to a whole new level. We started our experience stating my 5 year old daughter “has a severe Gluten allergy “,the waitress acknowledged and assured it would be noted to the staff. First time there, I live in Fresno and my son just moved to Hollister. A little wait but not to long. We were seated and the waitress came and took our order, ordered some garlic knots which were delivered promptly. They were delicious. My son ordered the pasta special and I ordered the salmon. Hardly any time past, and our entrees came out. He enjoyed the pasta, and the salmon was just the way I liked--done all the way thru. The pureed potatoes with diced veggies was excellent.
