The idea of the Rundown cafe was born in 1993 from tropical travel adventures and a love for the fresh exciting foods of the Islands."Rundown" is the name of a coconut milk, fish chowder so named "Because Mon it run down so good." One of our favorites! Not many spots on the OBX with an atmosphere like this. Oh, and bring quarters so the kids can feed the fish!
This place is wonderful. All wonter long I dream of their enormous salads with coconut shrimp on top. Absolutely the best dressing on earth. Finally, the day arrives and they reopen for the new season and, WOW, they never disappoint. Great staff, beautiful location. One of our very favorite hang-outs.
