Formal Complaint – Unprofessional and Concerning Conduct at Clifton Springs Emergency Department To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an incident involving a front desk staff member called Jim at the Clifton Springs Emergency Department on Feb 20 2026 around 4.00 pm. During my interaction with this individual, I experienced behavior that was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacking basic empathy. I have had positive experiences at Clifton. The ER department is is great. Very kind and I have never had a long wait time. The staff at the wound care clinic is also great. The one issue I have is when the Main entrance where the circle drive is. When that entrance is closed there needs to be another entrance available besides the South Entrance. Many of the patients that use this entrance are patients for the wound care unit or elderly people coming to see their loved ones in the nursing home.
I was in a car accident, this was the closest hospital, should have just went the few extra miles to Thompson. Bed side manners were terrible, whole experience wasn't pleasant. Ended up going to Thompson the next morning.
I can't speak highly enough about this hospital and what a valuable asset it is to this community. I've had such an amazing experience with all the providers based here. I know several people receiving rehabilitative services in the nursing facility and they received top notch care. If you find yourself needing a provider for gastro, endocrinology, or cardiology this is the right place for you. I also love the same day surgical procedure staff. All around an amazing facility!
In 2021 I was initially almost discharged despite a life-threatening condition — that’s part of why it still affects me. The ICU and cardiology treated me well. But I have heath related anxiety due my experience here with hypokalemia caused by Covid. Initially was told “go home and take dayquil” then admitted to ICU. Sorry to write this now, so late, but unfortunately it still affects me mentally.
