We were told a rental property on Sanibel was rental ready, upon arriving elevator wasn't working, construction workers everywhere, construction tools scattered everywhere on stairway (our only option to access room), called management and discussed issues they apologized and agreed to cancel our stay, and they also sent an email confirming cancellation with an amount to be credited back to our credit card which we agreed with. I didn't think it was possible to be miserable in paradise, but Royal Shell made it happen. We rented Pointe Santo E33 end of November. When we arrived we found a full construction site. After negotiating our way around all the construction equipment and materials we found inside the condo to be about what we expected. At 7am every morning except Sunday we were woken by the worker dropping materials on the roof. At 8am the hammer drills and saws started. This went on all day long. We had a horrible experience with royal shell. If you have an emergency and are forced to leave your rental early don't expect any compassion from this group! We are very disappointed in the way that they handled our case. Everyone has emergencies and in our case we had an immediate emergency with one of our children at home. We checked out and flew home.
