Rain appeared in the forecast halfway through our scheduled replacement. The crew stopped opening new sections and concentrated on sealing the area already exposed. Work resumed after the roof dried, which pushed completion back by one day. Nothing entered the building, and I would rather accept a delay than have the installation rushed.

Another roofer proposed coating our old flat roof without checking what was underneath it. This inspection included test openings, which showed damp insulation extending well beyond the visible leak. Covering that material did not make sense, so we chose a full replacement. Not every siding issue requires redoing the whole house. Several vinyl panels on our garage were cracked after something hit the wall, but the surrounding siding was still in good shape. Finding an exact match was the hard part because the original color had faded. They brought two samples and let us compare them outside before ordering anything. A storm tore siding from one side of our house and bent several pieces around the corner. The exposed wall was covered quickly, but finding replacement material took longer. Our original siding had been discontinued, and the closest current color looked noticeably different beside the faded panels. Our leak was caused by a loose drain connection rather than a failure across the whole roof. They opened the area, replaced the damaged material around the drain, and installed new flashing. The repair was completed neatly and the price was reasonable. We have not seen any water inside since.
