Famed local Chicagoan Alex Dana, founder of the Rosebud Restaurant Group has been serving diners in the Windy City since 1973. With the exception of Mama's Boy and Carmine's, most of his eateries around the Chicagoland area carry the Rosebud name, but one thing is for certain, all of them provide the same excellent service and massive portions on every plate. At this Rush Street location the menu is classic Italian with dishes prepared in every way imaginable, from Piccata and Parmagiana to Milanese and Marsala. Additionally... read more

Nice outdoor dining/fast service – The seafood stew and calamari are amazing! The traditional spaghetti with shrimp was bland. The outdoor dinning is a great experience and the seating time was super fast!
Poor service – Having been lured in by the $5 lunch special, we just came back from our second visit hoping to enjoy the same experience as the first, only to be met with disappointment. With limited time for our lunch, we sat for an extended period of time with a basket of warm bread before finally being approached by our server. Our dissatisfaction was compounded by the fact that neighboring guests were instantly met with service. The host walked right by our table when asking other tables if they had enjoyed their lunch. ... read more
to The chef who specializes in steak searing. – Yummmmy!
Good Time – Loved my evening at Rosebud at Rush. Walking around with no particular plan, myself and five friends decided to give this place a try. The food was delicious and the waiter was fun and prompt. Will be going back
Look-out!!! Fun Time!! – A bunch of us went out and had a ball...Actually several balls each. Wow the meatballs here could choke a pig, and the salad really is not necessary. My sunday night rugby team were going to go for pizza, but saw the Rosebud sign and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. George treated us like royalty!!! We can't wait to go back

Terrible service with less than average cuisine. – I saw how busy the restaurant was and read the reviews on here and decided to try this place. Sadly the food was sub par and we only saw our waiter (who's English was barely understandable) when ordering food and delivering the bill. It wasn't even that he was busy, it was that 6 or 7 waiters were standing right outside of the kitchen joking around. The veal we ordered was extremely tough, however that's possible.. The side pasta had the worst marinara sauce I had ever eaten... read more
Cozy, bustling ambience; good food; great location; ok service – Food good but not phenomenal and a little overpriced in my opinion. I had the pasta special that was very flavorful with shrimp, tomatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, garlic, and olive oil but it was $30 which the waiter never mentioned. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was excellent. The wine list was very extensive and had a nice selection of wines by the glass. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and it was very busy. Our server was not the most attentive, however, when... read more
Poor Customer Service with Average Food – We were taking a walk downtown and walked by this restaurant. We were piqued by the fact it had outdoor tables and italian flavor. Due to the short Chicago summers, we wanted to try an outdoor restaurant. I had gone to Rosebud in Highland park, IL, and it was pretty good with great waiters. So I expected to get that here as well. Well, that didn't really happen. First, we were seated right in front of the kitchen area - where they brought dirty dishes. Not that we minded that, but it... read more
