RecommendedFriendly folks from around the area Plenty of good spirits and music Great outside area with music, Rootball and other cool stuff. We really enjoy Jason the bartender. He is quite the character and is on point with service This place is nothing fancy, it's cozy, laid back and relaxing. No food, you can bring you own or have a pizza delivered. A taco trucks does park outside the bar some nights. No smoking inside but plenty of room outside to smoke. Great place
Every year for the last (soon to be) 4 years anywhere from 7-15 of us have visited the Tail of the Dragon and stayed on Tunnel Road. Year 1 we stumbled upon this establishment and every year we look forward to spending time here as much as we do driving the trip. Fantastic people and Root Ball is almost unbeatable for a “backyard” game. Can’t wait for the first weekend in May this year!

The Root bar used to be a great place for locals and their families to go to have a great time. They have recently turned. They do not allow kids anymore and the way the staff, owner and patrons treated my friends last night was uncalled for. The bartender and Very rude patrons sent their son away from the pool table crying. My friends and I who are locals ( manyi with kids who have visited the roof bar in the past) won't be going to the root bar anymore.
