High prices and not much selection I've only been here once but the prices were high and there didn't seem to be as much variety or selection as the other grocery stores in town. They were friendly and the store was clean. The ads for this store aren't in the paper so I don't think about shopping here since I don't know what the sales are each week.
Ron's Castle Ads You can find Ron's Castle food ads in the Shopper of Eau Claire County. www.cvshoppers.com is where they are at and you can get them in the mail too. There is just a one page ad though.
So convienent We love going to Ron's because it's a quick stop... you don't have to fight the crowds like at the big box grocery stores and it's low key. The people are always helpful, the salads in the deli are good, and they load your car for you!
I think Rons Castle Foods is great I've shopped at Rons Castle Foods quite a lot. They aren't any more expensive than any other grocery store in the area on most of their stuff. They have a wide variety of different items you wouldn't find at a lot of the other grocery stores. A lot of the food is locally grown and made. They are always friendly and the store is clean. Plus, it is a locally owned store, so that helps our community out more.
I heard that they jack up their prices because its close to the tech college... I cant wait to see them go out of business. DONT SHOP AT RONS CASTLE FOODS!!!!!!!
I have been shopping at Rons Castle Food for better part of over 15 years, on and off. At one point I used to go there almost every day. I must admit that the posts that I see here are all too accurate. Their cakes and bakery items are great, but they fail to put nutritional listings on them, (ie. Carbohydrate, fat, calorie listings). For me this is very dissapointing since I am diabetic, and looking at nutritional info is imperative for me, with my diet. I shop there because they are local and they are personal. Im sick of the huge Mega stores taking over everything. I cant believe the nasty attitudes towards the store, what do you want, another Walmart? I went one day and was wandering through the wine section trying to figure out which one to buy. A gentlemen who works there came over and took the time to personally teach me all about the various wines and how to choose what wine with what food. My favorite grocery store in Eau Claire. Great for socially-minded college students (near campus) and others who would like to steer-clear of huge corporate chains. Its not too small (like some locally owned places can be) - Id call it medium sized.
Prices are very High. That is too bad because so many of the college students go there. Any body knows that their budgets are tight. Would be nice to see the prices drop. Staff is not that friendly and they rather talk to each other than to the customer.
