Worst experience with a doctor ever. Met with this doctor after trying medication that he suggested for 7 months. I did not like how it made me feel and with never have been being diagnosed with epilepsy before want to try other options. The doctor instantly had an attitude making statements that I was going against doctors orders, putting myself at risk of having a seizure and was so made he stormed out of the room. Very unprofessional!
I suffer from neuropathy in my legs due to lupus. I had a follow up with Sims, I explained to him that I was experiencing increased pain in my left leg, along my hip. A week later, the pain became worse. I called to see if I could get in, his recommendation, I can wait to have an MRI done when I go to Mayo, which is scheduled in 10 weeks and I can go see my primary. I called him Sims because he is unfit to be a doctor. If you have neuropathy problems do not waste your time going to his office.
Dr. Sims was the most condescending doctor I have ever met, and I've seen a lot of doctors as a patient suffering from MS for the past decade. Dr. Sims' solution to everything is sleep, because he specializes in sleep. DO NOT go to Dr. Sims if you want real health care. If I could give a negative star rating, I would. Absolutely disgusted.
Dr. Sims and nurses Mary and Janet practice kindness, attentive listening, thorough evaluation, and personalized, evidence-based treatment. We discuss treatment options, including the benefits and risks. They answer questions clearly and carefully. Dr. Sims asks me how I've been feeling and asks me if there is anything I want to talk about. He prints a written summary of each visit and sends a copy to my other providers. I feel that Dr. Sims values my well-being.
My sleep specialist had moved and I started to awaken during the night. Dr. Sims did not listed to my symptoms (awaken during the night with pain) or request (for an auto CPAP machine), only wanted to give me medications. Eventually, I saw a new sleep specialist in town who listened and we solved the problem.
Dr. Sims listens closely and always gives me options. He spends a lot of time with me during our visits. His nursing staff is excellent.
Absolutely the most unprofessional person, let alone a Dr! If you are unsure about the medication he PUSHES on you, he won't listen to what you feel or think. He does not clarify, or try to help you understand what is going on or not going on. The worst experience with a so called doctor ever. The staff is great but the doctor they work for is a terrible doctor. I can not strongly recommend enough that you find a compassionate understanding person to treat y
