I came to the nyu ER for severe red flag heart symptoms I was having. The nurses were very hostile and dismissive towards me, no one took me seriously when I kept saying I was having severe shortness of breath, chest pain, left arm pain and left neck pain, constant heart palpitations, and my heart rate was going up to 120-140! I received excellent care and treatment, and was impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved. The doctor and nursing staff were exceptional. The men who pushed me in wheelchairs were kind and compassionate. It is a remarkable grace to see medical professionals serving humans in their frailty.
I went to the emergency room last night around midnight for severe abdominal pain. After checking in, I went through the initial screening where a nurse asked basic questions and performed an EKG. I was then told to wait for a bed. What I saw next was shocking. There appeared to be well over a hundred patients crowded into two rooms.
