I had an initial consultation with Roger Sung regarding lower back pain. Quote: "I am just the surgeon". That really sums up his role. With a cursory review of my xrays, he said, "you can do physical therapy, cortisone injections, or fusion. You decide." Really? Maybe he is skilled at back surgery, but nothing else. I guess I need to find an orthopedic physician who does more than just surgery. He gave me a prescription for PT. "All modalities prn per therapist". Not his problem.

It's always a pleasure to to be seen by DR. SUNG and his staff. Their friendly, courteous and very helpful.
I want to start by saying that I suffered with neck, shoulder and upper back pain. For many years I tried everything imaginable to control my pain and tightness. Tried things like heat, cold, pain medication, lidocaine patches, tens unit, cryogenic spa, cold plunge in freezing water, dry needling, massages, physical therapy etc. Nothing really worked or work for a few days and the pain then returned.
