In 1952 K.W. Robison moved his family from Moultrie, Georgia to Fernandina Beach and established Robison Jewelry Co on Downtown Centre Street. In 1966 Robison sold his thriving business to Bob Whitaker, a native of North Carolina who had come to Amelia Island as a mill worker in the mid 50's. In 1975 Whitaker relocated Robison's one block west to its current address at 217 Centre Street.
