Dr. Androphy is a caring and knowledgeable doctor. I have gone to her for years and have always gotten the best of care.

Dr. Androphy is an extremely compassionate, highly skilled, and very professional psychiatrist. Having left a practice that was deeply disorganized where the doctor consistently showed a lack of respect for my time (he consistently rescheduled appointments or would run over 2 hours late) and diagnosis (he had to be prepped by a student beforehand while I was in the room to remind him what my history was), it is such a relief to have found Dr. Androphy. I have seen several psychiatrists and Dr.Androphy is by far my favorite. She’s the only one I’ve ever actually felt comfortable returning to. She’s very easy to talk to and very understanding and actually listens to how the medication is working. She is the only psychiatrist I would ever give 5 stars. Honestly my first time in 5 years of seeing doctors, I’ve actually felt a positive impact on my anxiety and depression. I love her!
I had a similar experience to "Harkin in St. Louis". Today, I spent $150 out of pocket to meet with Dr. Androphy, because she is not on my insurance plan. During our visit, she was swiping her phone repeatedly behind my chart (as if I could not figure out what she was doing) and occasionally asking me questions that did not make sense, because she was not paying attention. She just lost a 10 year patient.
I understand she has other patients but she often forgets what we've spoken about previously /what medications (or the dosage that I'm on). She never discussed with me the side effects of the medicines she prescribed for me, or talked about what drug-interactions could be possible. I've caught her not once, but twice checking her phone/texting during our time. My experience with her is my first experience with a psychiatrist, and I'm honestly terrified that they may all be this way.
Dr. Androphy is a wonderful psychiatrist and person with knowledge of how women's hormones contribute to mood and anxiety conditions during pregnancy, postpartum and mid-life. It's a pleasure to work with her and she is always prompt, caring and very skilled with medication management. I think she is the best female psychiatrist in St. Louis and highly recommend her.
First Psychiatrist to actually take time to listen and agree to help find the root cause rather than just masking it with drugs! So far we love her!
I am disappointed with the treatment I recently received from Dr. Androphy. After seeing her for several years, and being happy with my treatment, I received a call that I needed to find a new doctor. She made this decision based on my overdue account which she placed with collections without even contacting me first. As it turns out her office never submitted my claims. So now my account is in collections and her office is not returning my calls. Not at all a professional way to treat someone.
