I have been seeing Dr Alvarez for years. His most admirable quality is he cares and listens to you, then explains what is going on. He has seen and taken care of me for various reasons some serious some not so serious and he has earned my trust. He does not just throw you a script for whatever the latest and greatest big pharma drug. He is frank, professional, and is an outstanding Dr.

I've been a patient for over 15 years. I love his demeanor, his bed side manner and his skills. But the service and his low-key manner has changed since Village Medical took over. I feel that he is being pushed, by corporate, into doing and saying things that he would not necessarily say or do. That is my opinion, not a fact. Dr. Álvarez is an employee of Village Medical and a fairly good doctor. His affiliation to Village Medical (VM) is very damaging to his reputation. Let me explain: 1) There is no way to communicate by phone with the doctor or his office unless going through VM 2) VM has a bank of telephone responders that will make it very difficult to communicate directly with the doctor´s office by routing to many different VM departments 3) One is compelled to physically go to the doctor´s office to communicate the problem. 4) Any referra... read more

WELL DR. ALVAREZ IS A GOOD DOCTOR BUT I BELIEVE WHEN HE CHANGE TO THIS VILLAGE MEDICAL THE OFFICE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM WE HAVE KNOW HIM OVER 20 YEARS HE WAS REALY GOOD TO MY MOTHER AND ALL US I AM GREATFUL FOR THAT BUT WE ARE A LITTLE UPSET WE HIS SERVICE LATELY MY FATHER ALSO A DOCTOR HE WAS VERY HUMANITARIAN I JUST WISH HE WILL DO A LITTLE OF THAT ALSO.
Dr. Alvares has been my doctor for over 10 years and he has always been able to recommend the best course action after my physicals. He really listens to the patient. In my opinion he is the best doc around. I had to leave his practice for one year because of insurance and went to Methodist and OMG, there is no comparison.
Excellent care and dedication. Takes time to listen and takes the extra step to understand what the patient feels.
I have been going to Dr Alvarez for many years and could not be happier with my choice for a PCP. He is always very thorough and attentive to my concerns. His staff is easy to work with and cooperative.
I’ve been going to Northwest Family Practice for over 20 years. Everyone there has been very friendly, professional and courteous.
