Thank you, Dr. Paul, for spending time with both Jean and I to answer our questions and give us some important information. Also, for ordering some tests that will give me some assurance and answers regarding my health. At the age of your father, it is very helpful. Thanks again, John Hellstern

Dr Paul has been our family Doctor for 13yrs. He is the most caring physicians we have ever been to. He has a wonderful bedside manner and genuinely cares for his patients. You will NOT just feel like a number at his office. He listens to your concerns and answers any questions you have. My family loves him! We even travel from Weatherford because we didn't want to switch Dr's when we moved from Benbrook.

This is on behalf of my father who is undergoing treatment for colon cancer. He recently underwent a colonoscopy to evaluate his tumor as well as to determine a cause for his increase in abdominal pain. What was found was multiple adhesions related to radiation as well as the tumor causing partial blockage. This has caused my Dad pain- as you can imagine- along with constipation. My father was seen by Dr. Paul after his colonoscopy- I’m assuming the doctor was able to read the results...TBC

Business response:

Hello - I am sorry to hear this and would like to have a patient advocate follow up with your father. Can you or him please email me his information including name and phone number to katieborders@texashealth.org Thank you for your review, Katie

He told him that he would not write for anything else to get a new doctor. As a nurse practitioner, I understand the drug seeking epidemic- but if you looked up my dad, you could see all of the times he has been written for and picked up controlled medications. It is minimal. For him to even ask for this is a stretch for him. He has an underlying cause for pain that can be seen on imaging. The doc that did the colonoscopy was reached after this and immediately called in appropriate medication.

Is it standard practice to refuse to treat a skin rash or other unrelated ailments because someone doesn't want to be put on anti-depressants or because a doc in other office directs you to do so (Dr. Olubukola (Joan) Amudipe)? That really sounds unethical. To withhold refills on other normal prescriptions (sleep aids, anti anxiety, etc..) if they don't agree to see a psychiatrist or blindly take anti-depressants due to the myriad of side effects they have. I will find a new doctor for my mom.

I scheduled a new patient appointment and at first I was a bit discouraged by the wait time. However, the reason was made clear when I came in. Dr. Paul spent nearly a full hour talking to me and getting to know my specific health needs, as well as me personally. Every visit since has been scheduled quickly and the office wait times are almost non-existent. Dr. Paul is pleasant and he does his best to treat the condition, not just the symptoms. I will be seeing him for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Paul has no bedside manner, doesn't listen to the patient. If he was listening he would've heard that I just had a physical and he could get the results from my other drs, instead he has his staff leave a message that he will not refill my meds if I don't have a physical. Tells me to try Zyrtec instead of the decongestant I've used for 10 years cause he likes it better. Took me off my statin without testing my cholesterol. He doesn't listen to anyone but himself. Would not recommend this Dr.

Business response:

Nancy - I regret to hear this and would like to speak with you further about your concerns. Can you please email me your contact information at katieborders@texashealth.org Thank you, Katie

Dr. Paul was extremely thorough, honest, and listened to my concerns. He was respectful of my time and is careful to chose a path when prescribing medication. Other physicians that I have been to did not hesitate when writing 2-4 RX's for a symptom. Dr. Paul starts at a baseline than goes from there to find the source of the problem. As well as being honest when referring to a specialist. I was extremely pleased with my visit to Dr. Pauls practice and will recommend him in the future.
