I've been a patient of Dr. Piana's for several years. His primary focus is the well being of his patients. He is personable and is able to explain procedures in a way that is easy to understand. His opinion/judgement is very well respected by my other doctors (Internal medicine, Radiation oncology, Dermatology, and Neurology).
Dr. Piana is a thorough and caring doctor. He is also easy to communicate with and listens to all concerns.
He is aggressive in trying to find the cause of your discomfort. I think the is the best!
Dr Piana took care of my husband under very dire circumstances after being life flighted in cardiogenic shock and a perforated RCA and he was one of the best physicians in every way. Vanderbilt as a whole was the best place we could have been they saved his life. The teams were personal kind and they did everything in their power to save him and find the right solution for him. Thank you! Dr Piana is currently still his doctor and has been just as incredible post emergency.
My experience with Dr. Piana was due to my unexpected visit to the Vanderbilt Hospital emergency room. He was very thorough from my first conversation, through my admission and a heart stent implementation. His explanation of what possibly could be occurring medically with my symptoms allowed me to participate in my treatment options. As an out of state patient he took great time in discussing my health history and in pursuing records from my physicians (out-of-state). He was EXCELLENT.
