My insurance changed several years ago, and I was forced to find a new doctor. After looking around, I settled on Dr. de las Alas. Thankfully, it was a great change. While my previous doctor was awesome, Dr. de las Alas is even better. He takes time with you. He knows you. It doesn't seem like you're just a patient to him. Dr D has been my primary since I was a kid. Absolutely great doctor who listens and cares about his patients!
My brother Tilahun Worku had a severe headache and was seen by this doctor at IU on August 29th and again on September 5th, 2025. He prescribed painkillers both times without discovering the underlying cause of his illness. My brother frequently informed him that the medication was not effective and he desired to undergo additional tests. Since the headache went worse than before every day, he went to Urgent Care and the doctor there referred him to IU-West.
