I'm following this post up with an official complaint to the Iowa State Board of Licensure. Avoid Dr. Robert Lancaster, DARNP, at all costs! We moved to Cedar Rapids a year ago and wanted another doctor in the practice, but Lancaster was, and still is, the only one taking new patients. I gave him a chance. My husband went in to see Dr. Lancaster roughly 3 years ago for excruciating back pain. When he showed up to the appointment and explained the level of pain he was in Lancaster looked at him and said "well, youre not crying. Some men come in here and cant even sit down!" And wrote a script for physical therapy. Fast forward to TODAY. My husband HAD A BROKEN BACK. If I could give 0 I would. If you like fighting to get medications filled and then get blocked from sending a MyChart message for said situation then this is the Dr for you……. I work in healthcare and I’ve never had issues like this before….

I have asked Rob Lancaster for a second opinion with a specialist and he refused. He felt that I didn't need a second opinion at this time as he can take care of it. He blew me off and told me not to worry about it. I did some research about a patient's rights and second opinions, You have the right to a second opinion: Most healthcare providers understand your right to a second opinion as outlined by organizations like the American Medical Association.
