I had a knee replacement from another doctor in town who retired three weeks after I had the surgery. I got an infection and was ignored by the other doctor. I went to see Dr Gaines and he was very straightforward kind and honest with me. he and his staff are amazing thank you Dr Gaines Fred and Kendra. Thank you for saving my life and also my leg. During my initial visit with him Gains told me he’d perform a surgery on my leg. Then, when I drove 200 miles to see him in Lubbock, he did not even show up for the pre-surgery visit. Only during this pre-surgery visit he had his nurse tell me he would not do the surgery because he would not be able to handle a situation if a bone fractured during the surgery, something he surely knew or should have known after my initial visit with him. Dr. Gaines is a great guy and fantastic doctor/surgeon. He is very thorough and takes the time to explain exactly what's going on and how he plans to treat your condition. He's very open and straightforward. I'm truly blessed to have been referred to him. He's done two knee surgeries on me from a 2018 motorcycle incident and four surgeries on my foot due to an accident on a boat ramp. His staff is second to none. Dr. Gaines is amazing and takes time to talk with you and explain everything. I completely recommend him!! However, his front office staff are terrible, my daughter's procedure was canceled because they didn't get an authorization sent in, and had plenty of time to do it. They have messed up scheduling appointments, been rude, and spoke as if they were the nurse when they had no right to.
I am a recovering IV user and about a year ago had a relapse SO BAD I (I had necrotizing fasciitis.) I ALMOST lost my arm COMPLETELY due to my own stupid choices. Fortunately their are people in the world that still have compassion for my type and want to help instead of judge, Dr. Gaines and his team at Covenant got me into emergency surgery, had about 12 surgeries in all, but they saved my arm and my life.
