I was intrigued as a high schooler by the science of medicine and the ability to have a positive and meaningful influence in people's lives. As I pursued a career in medicine, I quickly realized how enjoyable it is to help children and young adults. When I looked at blood under the microscope and had my first interaction with a sick Hematology patient, I knew where I wanted to spend my career.
