I was Dr petersen Secretary in the early eighties and am shocked by some of these reviews! What a bright, kind, generous man he is. . I saw first hand day in and day out how much he truly cared for his patients. I highly recommend him. He is a great, caring person and doctor.
Be aware that a routine eye exam for a child will cost you upwards of $600. Despite a referral from a pediatrician, I paid this amount out of pocket. I suggest finding another provider who is more reasonable, he did nothing special during a routine exam.
Dr Petersen operated on our son this week. He made what was a daunting prospect into a fantastic experience. His manners towards myself, my family and my son were wonderful - he was incredibly caring. I couldn't recommend him highly enough -
my 1 lb son was born 16 yrs ago... *VERY* high risk for ROP. When he was released from the NICU, he said my son's eyes were fine. take him back for a followup and we were told he was totally blind (MAY be able to see shadows). His vision was NOT fine, although he could see more than shadows. Trying to get information out of him was like pulling teeth! couldn't be bothered to provide me any info... couldn't even look up from writing notes. Just "blind" and see ya! I don't ask for much regarding bedside manner, but that was be... read more
Dr. Peterson is one of the most accomplished and amazing doctors I have ever met. I had him as a doctor from age 7-16. I suffered a traumatic eye injury and after he tried so hard to save my eye we finally had to remove it. Throughout all this Dr. Peterson was kinda and respectful. He is a serious and focused man which makes him seem a little serious to a kid but to my parents he was so comforting and reassuring. He is a wonderful, dedicated man who most definately should be someone's doctor.
I can not change what I put earlier but I wanted to add that he is also now really good at what he does. He also does not make me feel guilty for switching to another doc in his practice since she removed my eye and I wanted continuity of care
He does care. His voice, tone, and attitude sometimes make it seem like he does not care. He is a decent man though.
I had Dr. Petersen from age 1 to age 8 (in his 8th through 15th years of experience). He had misdiagnosed my strabismus such that he felt a second surgery was needed (in which 4+ doctors refuted). He was highly callous and disrespectful. He is very arrogant and provides atrocious service. When he operated on my eye at age 1 in 1985, he had botched the surgery as he had moved my lense into an improper place so the point of reflection occurs higher up on the eye. It makes eye exams difficult and difficult to get a job as eye-c... read more
