The food is good and staff is nice. The wait is a bit much when it's 40 minutes on a 20 minute wait.
We go to RJ's every time we are in town. We love the brisket soup.

My buddy and I came in from Chicago for a car show. We we're were looking for some good BBQ we were not disappointed. The food was unbelievable. Now I just hope my leftovers make it back to Chicago without spoiling.
My husband, friend, friend's two children and I went here recently. It was a return visit as we live close by and have gone here numerous times. We were very disappointed with the service. The food was great, however, while we were still eating we kept getting "subtle" hints to hurry up. It wasn't even that busy but it was very rude that we were asked if we wanted boxes not too long after we got our meals. We were also handed the tickets while still eating and each having full beers to finish. It was such an odd thing.

Sarah, I am sorry to hear about the rushed service. We certainly don't want our guests to feel hurried while enjoying their meal. We have trained staff a 'Check back check down' so guests have the check for their leisure. (Mainly for business lunch clientele) However, in this case we did not execute proper service. I have been staying in KC for work and touring various bbq places. I have hit all the big names but keep coming back here. Awesome burnt ends and ribs. Highly recommend!
The food is great, But the big girl in the carry out is kind of rude and does not show good service at all. This is the third time I came to carry out for dinner and lunch and I hate her service! No smile, straight face and looks like she hates her job and to top it off she cusses like a sailor in front of customers to other employees. Not professional at all! First couple times there, was best meaty slabs ever. But went there, couple weeks ago, the prices went up, but the ribs were slim and not much meat on the bones, wasn't happy. Spent almost $40.00.but I'm sure I'll give it try again, see if I get a better slab:/
