The kid's unit is terrible. There are a couple nurses who actually care for the kids, but most of them don't. If you ripped your paper scrubs, they would say it was for attention, which would lead you to be in paper scrubs the entire visit. Kids forcing themselves to throw up in the bathroom would also be seen as attention seeking, so nurses wouldn't do anything about it. They would get irritated if you had a breakdown. Riverside is the best medical mental health facility I have ever stayed in in my life. My mother was beaten real bad and I was traumatized very bad. I slept in the bathroom and they were very patient with me. I learned a lot of coping skills with my mental health as well as skills that I still use today.
