The waiter and the view we're wonderful! But I ordered the small lobster roll and it was probably 4 bites !! Aside from the ambiance and staff there are alot of resturants in portsmouth with a better value and food!!
RecommendedThis restaurant is amazing and is my favorite place to visit anytime I am in Portsmouth NH. Service is amazing and the use of technology to help the experience for the customer is amazing. I hope that other restaurants take notice to help grow there business and give the experience to customer.
RecommendedWent here for lunch today. Absolutely Awesome! I started off with their lobster seafood chowder & crab cakes. The seafood chowder was the best I have ever had since Molly Malone's closed years ago and still this may be better. The crab cakes had plenty of crab in them and tasty. After that I enjoyed their Riverhouse Lobster Roll w/sweet potato fries. So far after quite a few different ones, Riverhouse's was the best cold lobster roll I have had locally in the seacoast. Can't wait to try their other menu items.

RecommendedThe food was outstanding! All four of us were very pleased with our meals. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. We very much enjoyed our experience at The River House. We look forward to eating there again.
While the food at River House is always exceptional, and the views/location can't be beat, a recent service experience left such a bad impression on myself and an out of town friend that I may consider never returning. What occurred partly stems from New Hampshire/Portsmouth's weird attitude towards alcohol and proof of age, and partly from the service members' collective inability to effectively communicate any lingering concerns they may have had over my party's IDs.
