A pleasant surprise! Outdoor deck was heated and tables were well spaced with divider plexiglass. Our waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable and EXTREMELY efficient. Food is DELICIOUS! Will definitely return.
Seafood Chowder was great and our waitress Sarah was great.
Although to wait was longer than they told us, the service from our waitress, Sarah was great! Our cocktails were good and the food came quickly and it was delicious!

Wait staff were rude. We had been there many years ago with our daughters. It was then a memorable experience. Tonight, many years later we are back in Portsmouth, NH to celebrate our daughter’s, boy friend’s birthday and we went to the River House for diner on a Friday night. The Maitre D and the waiter were rude and condescending. We left immediately without being served. We are so upset that we will not ever go back the the River House and may not return to Portsmouth.
