I bought a car there for 1/2 of what they were asking and after almost 5 years of wear and tear it still runs great. No complaints here. My sister and a friend also bought a car from River City Motors Plus a few years ago, a newer one and an older one, and theyre still getting from A to B.
WOW! I wasnt shocked at all when reading the reviews! I bought a car there years ago, I was 5-6 months pregnant, and needed a car quick! I even took a man with me so I wouldnt get shoved around (most women seem to get pushed when doing this alone). We thought this would be a good place to get a great car, some of my family members are long time friends with the owners family so why not give him business! They are a very reputable business and always willing to help anyone. your brother is overpriced and stuck up....that is y he is at shottenkirks. i have bought 3 vehicles from RCM and all have been very reliable.
I have never personally dealt with River City Motors, but I know my best friend has dealt with them several times. He has had nothing but trouble with any car that he has ever gotten from there. I have never heard anything good come from that place in either their sales and repairs. My brother is a mechanic with Shottenkirk...you would have much better luck there.
I bought a car from here. So far, I have had to replace the engine, power steering pump, transmission, and the alternator. When they installed the engine they put the alternator on wrong and it blew out.I was yelled at by one of the mechanics for not getting my oil changed on time but the car overheated in less than five miles. River City Motor in Fort Madison is a bad place to buy a car and take it to get fixed. They do not stand behind their parts. They put a bad part on my car and it broke down. When I requested money for the bad part, they gave me the run around. They did not return my phone calls so I went in to get my money. I was there for about a minute when the owner said we need to work this out through attorneys. He also threatened to have me arrested.
