Hands down the best matcha I've had in the United States. This is a high quality product made by a passionate tea aficionado. If you want quality without compromise and a luxury matcha experience, you won't find anything better this side of the Pacific.
Matcha from here was really good. Freshly milled. The person at the counter helped me choose and gave instructions on the best way to make it. This is not a separate store but part of the tea house. It is expensive for a tiny box but I understand good matcha is not a cheap cup of tea!
I love River and Stone tea. The matcha subscription is a great way to keep my matcha supply up and try new varieties. I also love the informative emails where I can learn more about he cultivation and process of creating the matcha I love.
One of the worst matcha! Save your money and buy from a reputable tea house. I purchased the Asahi, $55 for 20grams, would you believe my surprise when I opened the tin to a familiar scent. It’s the indistinguishable scent and taste of the $13/20gram Waikiki blend from Ippodo. What a waste, bitter and astringent. A far cry from the beautiful round umami flavor it should be, you’re better off waiting for Tezumi to restock. Also I’m currently in the twin cities, it took 6 days to arrive. Ridiculous.
Incredible tea house with such deep knowledge, artfully selected varieties and beautiful space. Highly recommend!
