I grew up in Williamsport and was genuinely looking forward to visiting Rita’s during a recent trip home. Unfortunately, the experience was surprisingly disappointing. When we arrived, we politely asked whether it was possible to sample a few flavors before ordering and were told, “Yes, no problem.” After trying one flavor, we asked to sample a second before making our decision. If I could give this Rita’s less than one star, I would. My boyfriend and I stopped by to try a few flavors before making a purchase. One employee told us sampling was perfectly fine, but when my boyfriend accidentally threw away his tasting spoon and politely asked for another, a different employee—possibly the owner—became visibly upset.
