The adorable town of Venice deserves delicious authentic Italian food—not the food they are serving at Ristorante San Marco of Venice. The short rib dish was expensive and had a lot of gravy but the meat was dry. The chicken Marsala contained stringy chicken, not tender. The side of spaghetti marinara tasted exactly like Rao’s sauce from a jar. I have been making homemade sauce from canned tomatoes my whole life and know the difference. We had a fantastic experience at San Marco! From the moment we arrived, everything ran smoothly. Our table for the reservation for 7 was ready right on time, which set the tone for a great evening. Gabby, our server, was awesome! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. What can I say. The absolute BEST bartenders, servers, food, entertainment and atmosphere on the island!
We finally tried this restaurant after years of walking by. I love the atmosphere and service, but the food was just ok. I would go again but try something different. We had the eggplant tower (which was good but too heavy on the sauce) and the branzino (which was drowned in so much sauce that I couldn’t taste the fish). Next time I’ll try a pasta dish. I have to say that the servers were all outstanding— friendly and hardworking. And our drinks were perfect.
We went for Easter Brunch today. It was fantastic. The service was amazing and the food was good. A great start to the day.
