After three years I've finally found good Sashimi!!! – So today I dropped off a friend at an appointment Downtown and I had an hour to kill and I was really hungry and saw RISE. I usually have low expectations from Sushi restaurants in Atlanta, as most of them totally suck. So when I walked into RISE, I expected nothing more than the usual combo "steak-sushi-lounge" bull@#$% you find around town. I grew up in Southern California and my expectations are a little snobby when it comes to fresh fish. I dont eat tempura or fried ... read more
trendy, but decent – A friend and I visited Rise last night and after reading some reviews I wasn't expecting much. The atmosphere was nice, kinda trendy wannabe Japanese decor, dim lighting, and not to loud. We got there about eight thirty and were immediately sat by a scantly clad hostess and our drink order was taken shortly after by an even less dressed waitress. We ordered a 21 oz. Asahi and some warm sake. The sake was generic but what I expected for the price. We started with the spring rolls and salt & pepper calamar... read more
Don't go without three hours! – We went after a tradshow since it was close the Georgia World Congress Center, and figured it was a convenient choice. Not a good dining experience, especially when we had to place the same sushi order twice, and kept waiting "5 minutes". Choose another restaurant.
Awful Sushi! – The worst Toro I have ever had....actually had to spitout the Toro Nigri, the Hamachi was marginal, the Derby Roll sounded good but was way too spicy, I think they were trying to cover up the taste of their poor quality fish with hot spicies. The California Tempura was to only decent roll we ordered. Maybe my standards are too high coming from Seattle, but you can get great quality fish in any large city in the US. Rise clearly missed the boat on getting any good fish.
GREAT Sushi! – Tried Rise last night...This sushi was GREAT! My favorite was the California Tempura. We tried the rainbow roll, California roll, and the super crunchy roll, and the tempura green beans. All this and a few glasses of wine and some beers and we came out less than $100. GREAT prices for great sushi! Will definitely be going there again!
High Grade Sushi – I haven't had great sushi until now. Nice environment. Great food and the servers while a bit inexperienced, the food is incredible. I liked the inside of the restaurant. Green Been Tempura was good. I think thats what its called, the sauce that goes with it was good. Nice servers & awesome food...definite repeat.
good sushi – I really enjoyed getting sushi here, and I get sushi fairly often. the inside is really nice- trendy, new and comfortable. It mainly has sushi and american inspired japanese entrees for dinner. If you're looking for authentic japanese, this is not the restaurant. I would recommend going here for a date or with a group of friends. The rainbow sushi was delicious, and it's fairly affordable for sushi. For other entrees, it was more expensive- around 20+. I would eat here again!
Great new Sushi place – Comments: I was there for dinner last Saturday with a group of friends. The place has a nice vibe, good ambient music and cool decor. Our server was a little inexperienced, but very polite and attentive. The food was great! The Saba sashimi was probably the best I've had in a loooong time, fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and the Bok Choy was very flavorful. I also tried my sister's Asian Shrimp & Grits with chinese sweet sausage and it was surpisingly good! Desser... read more
Shiny sushi spot in the Lucky-Marietta district gives downtowners and tourists a spot to snag fresh fish. – In Short Going against the trend of giving the sushi bar a small corner space, Rise Sushi Lounge displays their bar with bravado, a 360 degree stone-topped centerpiece and sushi show for the entire dining room. This elegant Japanese spot in Downtowns' Lucky-Marietta district does a Ru Sans-like full menu of cooked food for the squeamish, but those with a little ambition should go for the raw deal. The locally-coined Ye... read more
