My husband and I toured the museum yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. Watch out for the hidden passageways! Great place for adults and older children/teens.

I thought it was pretty cool. I liked the hidden passages and the vibrating ground in the Egyptian themed area. Price was a little bit high. I could see 10 or 12 but $17 for a 30 minute-ish tour was a little bit stiff especially in the off season. The guy at the desk was super friendly so over all it was still worth it.
We were expecting a fun, family friendly experience that would enhance our children's curiosity of our world and its rich history. What we were met with was a collection of macabre pieces, most of them poorly re-constructed with mannequin heads and/or cheap materials. It was scary for our 5 year old because of the gruesome/ugly exhibits. It was scary for our 7 year old because he could read the signs, many of which were not appropriate material for young children. Thank you for visiting our odditorium. I am sorry that you were not pleased with your visit. We are self-guided museum and you can take as long as you like. We have over 11 exhibits and hundreds of artifacts. I am sorry to hear that your children were scared by some of our exhibits. We do have some that are adult in nature. If asked ahead the staff are always instructed to let parents know that it can be scary for children. Again, we apologize that you did not enjoy your time with us.
