The pavilion was okay but the restroom was closed during the time we used the pavilion. Only 2 portable toilets are available.
This could be a nice spacious picnic area with a few adjustments. It’s shady and there’s a pavilion that provides shade as well so it has that going for it. There are also a few basic grills provided that anyone can bring their own coal to use. Many picnic tables were overgrown underneath which makes them not only uncomfortable to sit at, but also a hazard when it comes to ticks. The bathrooms are currently out of order. This doesn’t connect to any hiking trails or bike paths, so you really need a car to access it.

Area 3 in Ridley Creek State Park has a nice pavilion, playground, additional picnic tables and bathrooms. While this is the best area in the northwest section of the park, there are nicer picnic areas in the southeast section.
