Editorial fromRick's Roadhouse may be an old-fashioned roadside barbecue shack on steroids, but John Elkhay's Jewelry District joint retains the reasonable prices you'd expect at a rib-and-beer place without sacrificing quality or creativity. In…

Good food, good time. – I've been a few times, and every time I have gone I have enjoyed my meal. The kitchen is practically in the dining room and you can hear and smell your food being prepared. I've had great servers in the dining room, and not so great ones at the bar. Had a great meal. – Deep fried mac & cheese, mmmm. Very casual, friendly, laid-back service. We had a lot of laughs and a great, very casual meal.

We were hungry for down-home BBQ and got something that looked like a Hungry Man Meal. Cornbread was way off - coleslaw tasted like stale cabbage sprinkled with plain white vinegar - mac and cheese was a la college dorm. Might have excused all that if the meat was tasty, but this was NOT smoked meat. It all tasted the same: thoroughly bland and literally tasteless without the sauce. T... read more
they have brooklyn lager! and that's about it! – i really love brooklyn lager, and nobody else seems to carry it. especially in big 24oz cold mugs for a cheap price. but boy, the drinking is the saving grace for this joint, which has little other redeeming value. the food is, simply put, awful. you can tell most of it comes out of the freezer, pre made. sauces on items like the meatloaf taste like solid sugar and salt. pure goo. their ribs weren't half bad, but they weren't great either. burgers look like a steal at $5, but ... read more
