RecommendedEven now, with schools closed for a looming hurricane, Richland One is ensuring that their students remain fed by opening their doors to any child wanting lunch, Richland One or not.
When my wife and I were moving back to the East Coast, we looked at moving back to Columbia; however, RCSDO and the educational system were big reasons why we chose not to. And now to find out they are letting [certain] schools out early for a Jay-Z & Beyonce concert is beyond repulsive and only makes us feel better about our choice. What a precedent they are setting. Will they now allow students to leave school early, "because of the fear of traffic", to attend other concerts without penalizing them?
i have been calling and calling about a situation but no one answers the phone or call back. they are beyond the worst district. the only thing i like about them is their teaching techniques.
Great school district that believes in educating and empowering every student. This district offers an amazing amount of programs for students to pursue for their growth and development. From career pathways to armed forces or college readiness they offer them all. School district receives many National award recognitions for both its performance and accreditation. Amazing arts and STEM programs, Montessori, Language Emersion, Capstone, AAP, and so much more. Proud to be a R1 graduate and parent!
If there was a below one star option, I'd click it. This school has been calling me for months on end with automated government messages about taxes and what not. Then they claim it wasn't them after I called the number. I don't even live in Richland. I do however have friends who live in the sorry slums of the district. They have children , all of which are relentlessly bullied in school, pushing one soul to the brink of attempted suicide. Let's thank Richland One for doing such a good job with our young.
I want to give a shout out to my children’s bus driver, Mr. Henry. He drives bus number 114 for Brockman school. He is always pleasant, and on most Fridays he buys pizza and Kool-Aid for the kids on his bus. On the last day of school he gives out donuts. He loves our children without asking for anything in return. We gave him a little end of the year gift, and within a day he gave us the most gracious thank you card. He has a heart for service and should be commended!
