Richard was an invaluable resource as I went through a current health issue. He was very easy to work with and a great communicator. I would highly recommend working with Richard and his team.
It is hard to put in words the amount of care and attention that I had received from Dr Vela. If you have to have rods and bolts put into your neck. This is the doctor. He reassured me and he was very clear about what I would be feeling after the surgery. There will be pain obviously, but even that is not as bad as I thought. Lastly, I’m not saying I really want to lol but if I need more hardware put into me, I will go back to Dr Richard Vela. atrium rocks for hiring him.

Richard is amazing. At my first consultation, Richard took time to explain my scan results to my husband and I and gave us all my options. I proceeded with spine surgery, and during my initial postop days in the hospital Richard was so kind and attentive. He gave me realistic expectations the first two days after surgery, which really helped me get through them. I’ve unfortunately had my fair share of experiences with hospitals, and I can confidently say that Richard is a rare angel in the healthcare industry. Not only is he incredibly attentive and caring toward his patients, but he shows just as much compassion and respect to the loved ones of those patients.
