Went in with a bone spur on my achilles in February, after being on a scooter bearing no weight, to three weeks of minimal weight, and three weeks of wearing a boot I had still significant pain and could not wear a shoe. I received no physical therapy instructions and no aftercare instructions. Toe surgery - Cyst on toe removed. However, union of joints w/screw failed. Left with nonunion of joints. Toe will never be right. Up until surgery, looking back, there were red flags. After surgery, doctor would not accept my.calls - told me to reach out to my PCP w/ questions? Huh? This was my first surgery ever at 53 yrs. Learning lessons from this - any future surgeries to do my homework first. Currently under care with an excellent orthopedic surgeon on any exercises, input to make my toe more comfortable for the rest o... read more
