Dr. Stern is friendly and efficient - he knows his stuff! I see Dr. Stern for Neuropathy in my feet and legs and he has been my ‘go to’ Doc for several years - I highly recommend his practice.
Dr. Stern is the only doctor I have had that has been able to get me feeling human again. The autoimmune world is so ambiguous and can be confusing, but he was able to sort out my atypical presentations and get me on a treatment plan that works. Dr. Stern is likely a wonderful rheumatologist for those in his care who are thin and have easily diagnosable maladies. Unfortunately, he blamed my systemic inflammation on my weight (which has only been a problem since the inflammation began). When my general labs didn't fit in with his small window of knowledge, he threw his hands up and stopped treating me. My new rheumatologist, Dr. Lavery, is more knowledgeable!
Dr. Stern is an excellent rheumatologist. He diagnosed our daughter w/ Lupus 10+ years ago when she was in college. We were shocked and worried half to death. Dr. Stern was so kind and told me, “Every person’s Lupus is different. Do not assume The Worst.” We even flew her back from Lubbock for appts. b/c we wanted only Dr. Stern to treat her. When she started going to appts. w/o me, he always said, “How is your mother”? She doesn’t mind driving from Allen to Grapevine b/c she likes Dr. Stern so much. So do I.
Dr Stern seems like a fine caring physician and I desperately wanted to find a local Doctor but after seeing him for a year or so he is just too difficult to get an appointment with even as an existing patient. If he says see me again in 2 months, his staff will insist that nothing is available for six months.
