Rick Gertsema did so much for me in a relatively short period of time when I was a teenager. I felt like he was the only adult that ever listened to me and genuinely treated me as an equal, and I needed that so badly at a time when adults were very judgemental of kids (late 90's). I will always be grateful for our time together. You can kill someone with kindness, so I'll leave it at that.
