Dr. Vanderbilt is very thorough and has a gentle approach to all my dental needs. I moved from the area and found another DDS closer to my home, but over time, I decided the distance didn't matter and returned to Dr. Vanderbilt. He has performed 'regular' dental services as well as a root canal (or two!) for me and is not shy about letting me know if a treatment is beyond his scope, as was the case with one of the root canals (long story about my funky root anatomy).
