Dr. Helmer has been everything I could have hoped for as this journey began two years ago. He’s always totally honest with me, but also helps me remain optimistic. He is never rushed, and addresses my questions and concerns thoroughly. I never doubt for a minute that he is totally invested in my well-being.
Dr. Helmer keeps me alive. And he is a great human being with a wonderful sense of humor plus he likes people. Walter Hennigan, MD
Dr. Helmer is a phenomenal physician. Conscientious, takes his time to get to know you, and delivers medicine with a great dash of humor. It also helps that he keeps me alive and keeps my blood in healthy condition. He is my favorite doctor that I see.
I was first diagnosed with LGL-T leukemia by Dr. Helmer in August of 2013. I have been in his care since then. He is a great physician and a wonderful person. He is always cheerful and optimistic and has a fantastic sense of humor. I am delighted with the results of his treatment and always look forward to visits with him, his nursing staff and the extremely capable phlebotomist and lab techs at Texas Oncology.
