Comming back I have been to Riccell'is a few times. I can say things with service and the food have surely changed for the better. Thank you Riccelli's
Riccelli's Restaurant Riccelli's is a great restaurant! They have excellent skinny onion rings and steaks! This is a place to come to when you are hungry, as they bring you fresh bread, salad, a side of spaghetti (unless you are ordering spaghetti as your main dish), then your main entree. The prices are very reasonable and service is great!
I have read the other reviews and I can see where they came to that opinion. And those are all the reasons I love this restaurant. This isn't a cookie cutter business with fake greetings and empty smiles. These are real people who I have just started to get to know by name. Our food was good, but this place is a time capsule. It's probably been kept in business for the last 50 years by love from the locals, so that's gotta be worth something.
I am Italian and grew up in the kitchens of Italian restaurants and my own grandmothers. I know Riccellis doesnt meet some peoples standards with their outdated decor and sometime loud disagreements but to me its home and comforting. I love the fact that everything on menu is wonderful and the wait staff is excellent. It has been a family favorite of ours for generations. So if you want good italian food and a holiday family dinner feeling go to Riccellis.

Let me start off by saying, I am a vegetarian. I have been for 8 years. Seeing as this is an Italian restaurant, and I enjoy the other Italian restaurants around Des Moines, I decided to go to Riccelli's with my mom and uncle to celebrate their birthday. RECEIVED GIFT CERTIFICATES – I WENT ON GOOGLE AND READ REVIEWS AND WAS A LITTLE WORRIED AFTER READING THE REVIEWS. MY SON HAD TOLD US THAT THEIR STEAK DEBUGO WAS FANTASTIC, BUT I WASN'T HUNGRY FOR STEAK. WE WERE SEATED RIGHT AWAY AND OUR WAITRESS CAME TO GET OUR DRINK ORDERS.
