I met Dr. Farokhpay during my hospital stay at UCI and UCI outpatient psychiatric clinic. He's the most knowlegeable attending physician at UCI, and he has great respect for patient's preferences. He is a good listener and very sensitive to patient's needs. He's the best psychiatrist i've ever had of 25 years history having a mental health illness with neurological issues as the result of side effects of psychotropic meds.
MY son been referred to Dr. Farokhpay as he was suffering from depression and anxiety . He spent a lot of time with him., listening to him and moving forward with the treatment plan step by step. My son is a much happier person now and so looking forward to his monthly meetings with Dr. Farokhpay.
This doctor happened to be the attending for my son who had just jumped off a roof to kill himself. He had never met him before. Kicked us out of the room and then locked himself in the room with my son for a half an hour, evidently learning everything that was necessary to make his decision which was obviously predetermined, or so he thought. He is pompous, self righteous and patronizing. And instead of speaking with us spoke at us and preached. He is the worst type of doctor.
