Dr. Dana is an excellent physician by all accounts and his expertise is certainly in research. He lacks the ability to communicate well with patients and answer their questions. He will certainly tell you what to do to resolve your ailments but he never explains why the treatment is necessary, what to expect from the treatment or what the side-effects might be. Dr. Dana saved my husbands vision. He had a Arterial Occlusion in one eye and a chemical burn in the other. Dr. Azar preformed a corneal transplant on the burned eye, 10 or more years later it failed, Dr. Dana had moved to Chicago. Dr. Dana performed a second corneal transplant and so far it has been a total success. We visit Dr. Dana multiple times a year and have nothing to say except total PRAISE for his work, his manners and his politeness. I have seen Dr. Dana twice this year and each time, have come away with new information and practical knowledge regarding my eye care. Dr. Dana is patient, caring and professional. He is 'the best of the best' and at the top of his field. You can be confident that he will know how to treat your specific issues. Best of all, he makes a point of including you on the team to optimally manage your health care together.
There is a delay with seeing Dr. Dana. I am first seen by his medical staff for the basic portion of the exam. Such as the eye chart, the lubrication in my eyes, eye pressure, etc. My main problem is dry eye from chemo & raditation. I've been on auto-drops for years. There may be a delay, but I wouldn't change anything. Dr. Dana is worth the wait.

Dr. Dana relieved me from a very painful eye problem without side effects so far and thus enabled me to return to my normal life and activities instead of just dealing with the pain. I am thankful to him for every day of my now normal life and I feel lucky to be able to see him. The Fellows working with him and his Technicians are also capable and caring people.
