great for birthdays! – While Revival can get crowded, the upstairs lounge-like area is phenomenal, and the back yard garden can't be beat! They have no food, but the drinks are reasonably priced for a Union Square bar, and the bartenders are friendly and know what they're doing. It isn't hipster death-hell there, and you can kick the NYU freshmen heading to Shades of Green next door out of the way pretty easily.

Fab bar – What a great place to spend a friday night - friendly bar staff and a place to sit at the bar (if i'd made it upstairs then I would have seen the sofa's and probably fallen asleep there). Obviously it great that they helped us order take-away pizza, and when the time came, phoned the local store and got redbull delivered. Can't recommend it enough. Top place.

Neat little find – Two friends took me here the other Monday night, and at first I was put off by the claustrophobic front bar space, but then we went upstairs... by way of the patio. This place is like a maze! The decor is cheesy-cool, what with the painted on Sherlock Holmes study upstairs, but it can be romantic if you so choose. You can find cheaper mixed drinks and martinis elsewhere, but the quality is good. MY BAR, YOUR BAR, OUR BAR – Revival is the bar my friends and I goto when we find ourselves someplace trendy and annoying and someone asks, where do you want to go now? Revival. It is the quintessential NYC downtown neighborhood bar. People in suits, people in shorts, lots of beer, and some top shelf stuff too. Geat prices and always good tunes. A lot of 80's lately. Laid back – On appearances, Revival doesn't have the best decor, but they have a comfy garden out back, and couches upstairs. I come here when I want a good relaxing guinness. Fri/Sat nites can get crowded, but not usually packed. Service is always friendly. They usually have good music playing. No food, but you can bring it on your own and drinks are cheaper than average. Flat screen TV looks awful. Can't tell if it's Bart or Homer on that thing...

good variety – I like Revival, it's an interesting space. It's got a typical front bar, a little cubby-hole room, a backyard and an upstairs lounge. It's casual, cozy and full of variety.
